Today is April Fool's day but no one is making jokes. I found a copy of the research paper that breaks down the probabilities of the infections, deaths, and timeframes that was published back on March 25th. It is obvious that this one or one similar is what the officials are working off of. Search for tracking ID MEDRXIV/2020/043752 if you are interested. The mortality peak in Georgia seems to be most likely occurring in mid/late April. One thing to note is that the mortality peak will lag the infection case peak. Less "more" people will get sick, but a percentage of those sick will either succumb to the infection or to the lack of proper medical care. The mortality rate is still about 10% of those that require hospitalization. Well, the biggest news of the day is that the Governor has issued Stay-At-home orders for the entire state, effective Friday. I guess that gives us all about 2 days to get whatever non-essentials from local stores. Also, all schools will remain closed through the end of the school year. That means my kids get to stay home for at least 8 more weeks. My oldest daughter started crying when she heard. She misses her friends but she really misses talking to her boyfriend. He doesn't have a phone or a computer except during school hours so it really limits her time to see or interact with him. Ahh, young love.I am a full-time Dad, part-time Girls Lacrosse coach, and volunteer Disaster Responder.
