Four straight weeks of stay-at-home! Are you freakin' kidding me? I can't believe it has been 4 weeks since Fulton County decided to close their school doors. I am both disappointed and impressed with myself. I figured I would be able to do all sorts of great things stuck at home with nothing to distract me. Boy, was I wrong. First, I have been working almost every day since our company has had the infrastructure for almost everyone to work from home without skipping a beat. We don't have file cabinets and everything we need is on a cloud-based server somewhere. Secondly, I have settled into a routine that ends up with not as much free time during the week as I expected. The weekends have been better. This is where I have been more productive. We installed drainage pipes and new 6x6 timbers. We replaced the GFCI outlet and outdoor electrical box for the water fall. We have been working in the yard and around the house on the weekends, when we normally would have been too tired or distracted. I have also been able to work more on my craft. I created this blog from scratch; figured out how to programmatically send emails from my own website; how to send tweets from code using the Twitter API and tokens. Now, if I can just stop eating all the things the kids bake. Yesterday, the Governor of the great state of Georgia extended the stay-at-home order through the end of April. That means we have, at a minimum, 3 more weeks of this. On top of that, the schools have already been closed through the end of the school year, so the kids will be stuck at home for 4 weeks after that! I started this entry Thursday and now it Friday afternoon. My days are blurring into one long one. Easter is on Sunday. It will be nice for some Good News.I am a full-time Dad, part-time Girls Lacrosse coach, and volunteer Disaster Responder.
