We are already tired of each other. Tired of watching TV, tired of the rain, tired of playing the same games. Thank goodness for the home offices my wife and I set up a long time ago. The girls each have different online school schedules so it is nice to be able to close a door and ignore the banter of others. Like I said, already tired of each other. Quarantine Fatigue I coined this term to label what I had seen from the news reports of those in China and Italy who displayed a new sense of community while being stuck indoors for extended periods of time. I guess our neighbors in snow-bound lands are better equipped, physically and mentally, to handle this. The kids are already trying to revolt. They hear from friends that aren't be told to stay at home by their parents. Logic doesn't work. Being a Parent, a true parent and not a friend can really suck. Doing what is best for them even when they don't see or understand it. I have already settled into a schedule. Get up, run on the elliptical, have a protein drink, shower, work. Ugh. I am already out of shows to watch. I enjoy a 30-45 minute show and I had already watched most series I wanted. I am grateful that there is a new series, Picard on CBS, that I have not yet watched all of. I am holding the last few episodes for next week. I am diving into doing more work on the blog. Not just content, but formatting and data organization. Of course, after working all day, I only have so much energy for it but it is a focal point. I hear that non-essential travel is being shutdown. That made me think about all the people that don't have the flexibility to work from home and the funds to stock up the fridge and freezer. I was thinking about a co-worker who is pregnant. I really hope that this has passed before she needs to go into the hospital. I feel bad for all those women that are 8 & 9 months pregnant and are stuck at home in this stressful environment. It also makes me wonder how many babies named "Coronas" will be born this year. HA. I also read at the AJC.com (local newspaper) the information that we really need to hear: hospital capacity and readiness. Georgia hospitals are reporting having used 6 months of PPE in just the last week. That brings me to my final point today: The updates. They are coming fast and furiously from multiple sources. Every day there is some new announcement from some part of the world. China is trying to blame the US military for COVID-19; Europe's Schengen area is closing it's borders to all non-nationals; Romney and Trump want to give everyone some money. I really am becoming fatigued, not just from the quarantine (sorry, it's still just social distancing) but also from the dizzying amount of information. Some are real, some are opinioned and some are just made up. It is taking alot of effort to recognize which is which.
